Heart Trouble and its Cure

The heart beats 2,500,000,000 times in a normal life span, but…

The heart beats 2,500,000,000 times in a normal life span. What an amazing organ! But did you know that one out of every four who read this will die of heart disease? And you are twice as likely to die of heart disease than of cancer?

There is no quick cure for heart disease, but if you have it, it is very important to know about it, so you can take the proper medications and learn to live rightly.

Imagine your doctor discovering that you have heart disease but not telling you. Even though it is bad news, you positively want to hear about it!

The Bible talks about a different kind of heart disease. It is far more dangerous than any of the diseases that affect that vital muscle in your chest. It is called sin. Like any disease, we do not like to hear about it. But we must if we are to live rightly. Because sin can destroy our souls, our families, and even our nation.

Unlike a diseased heart muscle, there is a complete cure for sin. You cannot buy or earn this cure. It is a free gift from God and is given to anyone who seeks forgiveness through God’s son, Jesus Christ. And it is the only cure that works. It is called the new life in Jesus. With this cure, you can be made right with God now and for eternity.

Jesus Christ not only paid the price for our cure. He IS our cure. He took on the punishment our sin demanded, and willingly gave his life for us. After He was crucified, God raised Him from the grave, and Jesus is working today to prepare the world for His awesome return. With a new life in Christ, you don’t just become religious. You find the living Jesus at the center of everything in your life. You find purpose, joy, peace, love, and a thousand other blessings every day.

If you would like to receive this cure for your sin, tell God: Dear God, I repent of my sin, and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus. Give me a new heart, so I may have this new life in Jesus. Amen.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Ezekiel 18:31 Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit…

Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh
